How To Recognize A False Teacher or a False prophet? - Notes & ArticlesQuestion: "How can I recognize a false teacher / false prophet.

Answer: Jesus warned us that “false Christs and false prophets” will come and will attempt to deceive even God’s elect (Matthew 24:23-27; see also 2 Peter 3:3 and Jude 17-18). The best way to guard yourself against falsehood and false teachers is to know the truth. To spot a counterfeit, study the real thing. Any believer who “correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15) and who makes a careful study of the Bible can identify false doctrine. For example, a believer who has read the activities of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in Matthew 3:16-17 will immediately question any doctrine that denies the Trinity. Therefore, step one is to study the Bible and judge all teaching by what the Scripture says.

Jesus said “a tree is recognized by its fruit” (Matthew 12:33). When looking for “fruit,” here are three specific tests to apply to any teacher to determine the accuracy of his or her teaching:

1) What does this teacher say about Jesus? In Matthew 16:15-16, Jesus asks, “Who do you say I am?” Peter answers, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” and for this answer Peter is called “blessed.” In 2 John 9, we read, “Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.” In other words, Jesus Christ and His work of redemption is of utmost importance; beware of anyone who denies that Jesus is equal with God, who downplays Jesus’ sacrificial death, or who rejects Jesus’ humanity. First John 2:22 says, “Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son.”

2) Does this teacher preach the gospel? The gospel is defined as the good news concerning Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). As nice as they sound, the statements “God loves you,” “God wants us to feed the hungry,” and “God wants you to be wealthy” are not the complete message of the gospel. As Paul warns in Galatians 1:7, “Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.” No one, not even a great preacher, has the right to change the message that God gave us. “If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!” (Galatians 1:9).

3) Does this teacher exhibit character qualities that glorify the Lord? Speaking of false teachers, Jude 11 says, “They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam’s error; they have been destroyed in Korah’s rebellion.” In other words, a false teacher can be known by his pride (Cain’s rejection of God’s plan), greed (Balaam’s prophesying for money), and rebellion (Korah’s promotion of himself over Moses). Jesus said to beware of such people and that we would know them by their fruits (Matthew 7:15-20).

For further study, review those books of the Bible that were written specifically to combat false teaching within the church: Galatians, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, and Jude. It is often difficult to spot a false teacher/false prophet. Satan masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), and his ministers masquerade as servants of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:15). Only by being thoroughly familiar with the truth will we be able to recognize a counterfeit.

•They falsely tell people that no harm will befall them instead of warning them

Van Rompuy: non-entity, or ruthless political operator?

On Thursday, I was sitting in a hotel room in Turkey watching the live press conference in which the European Union made an �historic� decision to create a �President of Europe.�

They chose Belgium Prime Minister Herman van Rompuy over Britain�s Tony Blair. If you�re thinking, �van who?�, don�t worry � you�re not alone.

In one of the most undemocratic developments in recent history, the new leader of a half-billion Europeans is a name only 12% of them have even heard of. He was chosen unanimously by a council of other EU leaders, not by popular vote, and will take office January 1, 2010. Now that I�m home,

I�m contemplating how quickly an unknown can rise to a position of great power. All this comes quickly on the heels of the historic passage of the EU �Lisbon Treaty� earlier this month. Noted the New York Times: �A landmark agreement aimed at giving the European Union a global stature on par with major powers like the United States and China cleared its last major hurdle on Tuesday�.The treaty�s supporters contended that it was vital because the union�s rulebook was drawn up before the bloc began to expand, taking in 12 new nations since 2004. Its critics, however, contend that the document encroaches on national sovereignty and threatens to turn the European Union into a monolithic superstate.�

We are watching the emergence of an increasingly unified and powerful Roman empire continue unabated, just as Bible prophesy tells us to expect in the �last days.�

Immediate implication of the move: van Rompuy�s �election/selection� will accelerate Turkey�s dramatic shift from NATO ally to ally of Iran, Syria and Russia. Why? Van Rompuy is an avowed opponent of Turkish entrance into the EU and the Turks are furious.

Some U.S. and European analysts are horrified by the selection of van Rompuy, ridiculing him as a bland dolt and claiming EU bureaucrats missed a great opportunity to select Blair and make the new presidential post truly a global game-changer. Such analysts are missing the point. EU leaders didn�t bumble into this appointment. They are determined to create an unrivaled superpower.

They are determined to create the world�s most powerful political position in the presidency. But they want an EU-fanatic, not a British lone ranger. I�d never heard of van Rompuy until Thursday, but I have no doubt the EU leaders who chose him unanimously knew exactly what they were doing. I expect this guy to be a problem for the U.S., for freedom, and for Israel. Time will tell for certain.

Worth noting are some early press analyses of van Rompuy � not exactly favorable:

The London Telegraph says, �Herman Van Rompuy�s quirky exterior conceals a ruthless political operator who will stop at nothing to get his way as president of the European Union.� Excerpts: �The �ideal candidate,� said Nicolas Sarkozy, the French President, for bring �consensus and cohesion� to a fractious EU of 27 member states. In reality, and behind his harmless, eccentric and literary persona, Mr Van Rompuy, 62, is a sharp political operator who is not above using dirty tricks to stymie his opponents. Europe�s leaders may find to their cost that the man they chose to chair their EU summits possesses dark arts that will be turned against anyone, such as an incoming Conservative prime minister, who challenges the Brussels consensus. Last year, six months before becoming prime minister, he abused his position as speaker of the Belgian parliament to cancel a politically inconvenient debate. To make doubly sure that MPs would be silenced, he had the locks on the plenary chamber�s doors changed so deputies could not get into their own parliament. The tactic was described by opposition MPs as a �coup d�etat.� On another occasion, Mr Van Rompuy did not turn up in his office for a week to avoid opening a letter from opposition MPs demanding a debate. His skill as camouflaging himself as essentially harmless disarmed Gordon Brown who dropped British concerns over his federalist politics to allow him into the EU President post. Mr Van Rompuy is a supporter of the creation of an EU federal state, with its own anthem, flag and with powers to collect taxes on car fuel or financial transactions from Europe�s citizens."

The U.K. Independent quotes a colleague of van Rompuy who says, �He� operates in the shadows.�

Time magazine calls van Rompuy�s rise to power a case of �the bland leading the bland,� notes that 11 months ago, even few in Belgium knew who he was

The European Union has elected its first full-time president, and a new foreign policy chief. Neither has extensive foreign policy experience.

The European Union has elected Belgian Prime Minister Herman Van Rompuy as the body's new full-time president after years of rotating the post on a monthly basis. Lady Catherine Ashton was elected to replace Javier Solana as the EU's foreign policy chief.

Prime Minister Herman Van Rompuy, elected unanimously by the 27-member entity on Thursday, assumes his post on December 1. A Flemish politician, age 62, Van Rompuy has been politically active since his youth, but has only been prime minister since December 2008. He was chairman of the Christian People's Party, a center-right Flemish party, from 1988 to 1993, and Budget Minister from 1993 to 1999. He is seen as a budget hardliner, with little expertise in foreign relations.

Baroness Catherine Ashton, Trade Commissioner to the EU for the United Kingdom, age 53, is a British Labour politician who has served in various lower-echelon government offices over the past decade. She was appointed in June 2007 by Prime Minister Gordon Brown as Leader of the House of Lords and Lord President of the Council, and in October 2008, was nominated as the UK's European Commissioner in the European Commission. According to Reuters, she is "virtually unknown in Britain" and has had little foreign affairs experience, but is adept at trade issues. Ashton also has a degree in economics.

Neither of the new leaders has extensive experience in the field of foreign relations, which has raised concern among critics, who content the pair have too low an international profile. There also appears to be no record of either candidate having any specific interactions with the State of Israel.

The leaders of France and Germany both strongly backed the appointments -- and both strongly oppose Turkey's admission to the European Union. French President Nicolas Sarkozy praising the choice as a "very wise decision" to elect a leader from "an important country but not one of the most important countries, so that no one will feel excluded." German Chancellor Angela Merkel adding "We got a candidate who brings consensus and whose political competence has long been tested and tried throughout his political career."

Impact for the Middle East?

Turkish Parliament member Onur Oymen told reporters he was concerned about what the election meant for his nation's hopes of entering the European Union. In an interview with the BBC, Oymen noted that Van Rompuy had "said a few years ago that he was totally against Turkish membership because of religious and cultural reasons."

The Qatar-based Aljazeera news network quoted Van Rompuy as saying during Belgian parliamentary debate five years ago, "Turkey is not a part of Europe and will never be part of Europe... The universal values which are in force in Europe, and which are fundamental values of Christianity, will lose vigor with the entry of a large Islamic country such as Turkey."
Analysts have said that it may be the growing disaffection with the EU and the West that has pushed Turkey towards closer relations with Iran and its more radical Muslim neighbors in the Middle East. As it has continued tightening ties with Syria and Iran, Turkey has increasingly distanced itself from Israel and the United States.

One of the constants of history is that man seems to learn nothing from the constants of history.

Another is that nothing lasts forever. In fact, when viewed against the backdrop of mankind's time on earth, most things don't last very long. Especially empires. A couple of centuries, maybe three or four, is about as long as a dominant political system or culture can make it.

The more diverse and 'multicultural' (albeit a modern term) it is, the more tenuous and uncertain its lifespan.

Nowadays, we don't really think in terms of empires. The 20th century saw the demise of both the Ottoman and British "Empires." Things move too fast and the world is too interconnected and interdependent for an empire to have time to take root.

That's why it should come as no surprise that the 'empire' foretold in Bible prophecy for these last days may blossom faster and be more fluid in structure than those of the past. I'm referring to the predicted revival of the Roman Empire that Daniel described when interpreting the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar. He said that the final dominant system would rise out of the ruins of the old Roman Empire and that the Antichrist will rise out of that people and culture.

Now, most of you know that I have long held that that final empire will be some form of a European confederation of which Rome will be the center. This week, I'm going to explain further why I believe this and look at how unbelievably accurate Daniel's prediction is turning out to be.

I'm referring to his portrayal of that empire as "ten toes of iron mixed with clay," thus making it partly strong and partly weak. We need look no further than today's European Union. With more than 500 million people in a single market, it is, at once, the world's largest economy, yet it teeters on the verge of total economic collapse.

With Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, and now Italy facing catastrophic failure -- failure that may pull down the EU and much of the world with it -- it's very possible that the EU of today may not resemble the EU of next year. But there need not be total collapse to provide opportunity for the emergence of the Antichrist, complete economic chaos will do nicely, too.

Once again the prophets have peered across thousands of years and accurately described the events they saw unfolding in the future -- which, I believe, is our "today."

Over the years on my television programs, we've reported on earthquakes across the world -- places like Turkey, Iran, the South Pacific, the Indian Ocean, Asia, Japan, the Caribbean, and South America. Lately, though, we've been reporting on them in odd places like Missouri, Washington, D.C., and, now, Oklahoma. Though these quakes have not been as catastrophic as those in Sumatra and Japan, for instance, that literally moved land masses several feet and tilted the earth on its axis, they are notable because of Jesus Christ's prediction that in the last days we would see earthquakes in "various places." Of course, the implication here is that the earthquakes would occur in lots of different places and, probably, unusual places, at that.

Speaking of unusual places, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is now telling us that it has finally uncovered evidence of a nuclear program fully engaged in weaponization in a most unusual place: Iran. Of course, the IAEA is probably the only organization in the world that thinks Iran is an 'unusual' place for this discovery. Everyone else has known for years that it's happening. Most of the West, though, simply refused to acknowledge it.

In response to this week's IAEA report, the US is apparently going to follow its usual leadership tactic of late: leading from behind. However, rumor has it that it may have given the tacit 'green light' to Israel to go ahead and strike Iran before it's too late. This has led to great debate in Israel, not over whether to attack Iran -- most of the leadership now seems to be in agreement on that -- but, rather, whether to drop its longstanding policy of "nuclear ambiguity." That intentional veil of uncertainty has been a cornerstone element in Israel's survival strategy for decades. But their decision to remove that doubt -- if they decide to do so -- may signal the Israelis' realization that they pretty much stand alone in the world.

Finally, if you visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., you may notice something missing: God. To correct this deliberate omission, Rep. Bill Johnson of Ohio has introduced legislation to have President Franklin D. Roosevelt's D-Day Prayer, which was broadcast live to the nation on the evening of June 6, 1944, displayed at the memorial. It is not unusual for an American president to call the nation to prayer, but it is unusual for the President to personally deliver that prayer, all 6 minutes of it, broadcast live nationally.

That prayer proved to be such a unifying and uplifting moment at a truly historic turning point in the war, that Congressman Johnson felt like it was a travesty not to include it in a memorial to the sacrifices made by Americans in World War II. And he felt like it was an even greater travesty when the Obama Administration publicly objected. They claimed that the prayer's inclusion at the memorial will "dilute its message" and its ability to inspire visitors.

Congressman Johnson responded that the Administration's objection, "boggles my mind."

Well, It disgusts me, too, but it doesn't surprise me. This denial of the spiritual heritage of our nation has been going on for a long time, but it is intensifying as we approach the end of this age. Folks, it's time for the true believers in America to stand up and be counted. If we don't, the spiritual and moral precepts upon which this great nation is founded -- and their expression by our nation's leaders -- will soon be as rare as the mention of God at the World War II Memorial.

That will be a sad day, indeed.

"Jerusalem will never return to the state it was in on the eve of the (1967) Six-Day War, that I promise you."
Those words this week from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu let the world know that the Jewish state will not be intimidated by Iran, or anyone else.

The Israelis even test-fired their own missile this week, one capable of reaching Iran. And now the Americans are engaged, checking on the possibility that Israel will consider a first-strike on the Iranians.

Whatever they do, it will be creative. And Iran will go the way of other threats from the past. This of course speaks to one of my favorite subjects, the absolute authority of Scripture.

It�s too bad that apologetics groups, mega-churches and various other ministries don�t emphasize the astonishing implications of this.

For example, Isaiah 54 tells us that the Lord will not permit any weapons developed against Israel to be successful. Let�s take this to its logical conclusion.

If young people could see that this proves the existence and absolute sovereignty of the God of the Bible, perhaps they wouldn�t feel so hopeless and despairing. In other words, if God has promised to preserve the Jewish people, and has done it in spectacular fashion, shouldn�t we have confidence in the rest of the Bible?

But of course, that�s not the message preached today by Brian McLaren, Fuller Theological Seminary, or the young Emergent pastors.

For its part, Iran continues to be belligerent, setting the country�s leadership up for a titanic fall. In October, the Iranian daily newspaper Jam-e-Jam claimed that a letter from EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton was evidence that the West�s efforts to contain Iran through sanctions have failed.

When Iran�s Ahmadinejad said recently at the UN General Assembly gathering that his country might be willing to suspend its enrichment of uranium to low levels - in exchange for nuclear fuel from other countries - he barely concealed the mocking contempt he has for the West.

Blackmailing the West to provide nuclear fuel would enable the Iranians to continue to covertly produce enriched uranium.

There is also an instructive lesson for us in the story of Syria, as well. Western diplomats and politicians have made it crystal clear that they have no intention of intervening in Syria as they did in Libya. While Assad continues to slaughter his own people (3,000 by some counts), he has threatened to retaliate if efforts are made to stop his regime. If NATO brought down Quaddafi, they will not bring down the House of Assad.

The Iranians see this and know that the West will not help Israel stop their efforts at genocide.

That�s why it will be up to Israel and her God to stop the Iranians, and I have no doubt at all that they will.

Israel�s defense minister Ehud Barak is signaling to the international community that Iran is really a global threat - and the terror-state surely is - but even that won�t be an easy sell. It is human nature to sell-out a neighbor if it postpones your own demise. It�s the same with geopolitics, and particularly when the Jews can be put on the bargaining table.

There are no Churchills in our world today.

As Israel was test-firing its own missile last week - thought to be similar to the Jericho 3, and capable of reaching 4,000 kilometers - Italy proved that there is still some sanity left in Europe.

The Italians held joint maneuvers with the Israelis, as reported by the Jerusalem Post:
�That same day, the Israel Air Force announced that it had returned from a week of joint maneuvers with Italy over Sardinia that included long-range flights, midair refueling and complicated bombing runs. On Thursday, the Home Front Command held a large-scale civil defense exercise aimed at preparing the public for missile attacks in the center of the country.�
Good for the Italians!

Whatever happens in the coming months, we can be sure that it is Iran that is in real jeopardy, not Israel.

�Many Europeans are concerned their privacy could be breached by the growing use of radio frequency identification (RFID) chips,� declared the European Union in a document called �Citizens Summary: Radio frequency ID chips � EU privacy and data protection.� The European Commission and European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) issued three documents, including recommendations; an impact summary; and citizens� impact summary.

The short of it:

The EU 1) recognizes the value of RFID, 2) believes privacy concerns are justified, and 3) wishes to address those concerns without disabling the growth of RFID;

EU does not recommend new legislation, believing that RFID falls under its existing privacy laws (EU charter of fundamental rights and EU data protection directive);

EU tasks retailers and RFID vendors to assess the possible impact on privacy and data protection, and minimise any risk of infringing people's rights;

EU recommends a logo that will inform anyone who may be affected that the systems are in use (rather like the labels in US convenience stores warning �microwave in use� for pacemaker wearers);

Citizens must be informed who is operating the RFID system, its purpose, and
where they can get additional information;

Recommendations by this commission are not legally binding, rather, serve as a framework for legislation by individual European Union states.

The commission is not anti-RFID, writing in its recommendations that the technology �has the potential to become a new motor for growth and jobs and�holds great promise in economic terms, where it can bring about new business opportunities, cost reduction and increased efficiency, in particular in tackling counterfeiting and in managing ewaste, hazardous materials, and the recycling of products at their end of life.� It also credits RFID use with improving product safety, enabling faster product recalls, and enabling more efficient work, road toll management, luggage management, and travel documents, among other applications.

Still it observes that RFID is progressively becoming more common, and hence a part of individuals� lives, in logistics, healthcare, public transport and retail, �such that this interaction can happen without the individual concerned being aware of it�� such that hackers �can process personal data stored on the tag such as a person's name, birth date or address or biometric data or data connecting a specific RFID item number to personal data stored elsewhere in the system.�

EU member countries vary in the strength of their privacy legislation, such that �Member States are likely to diverge in time and scope� in creating legislation, with negative consequences for the deployment of RFID in Europe.

The recommendations of the Commission and EDPS serve as a blanket recommendation for EU states.

With the end of the war in Lebanon that has caused so much destruction on the human and property, several groups belonging to different religious communities, had spontaneously formed, to reflect on the lessons of war, and the future. They reflected the willingness and courage of the participants, marking a glimmer of hope at a time when violence prevailed. The scope of their action could not carry further and reach of national stature.

After the Israeli air attack against Lebanon in July 1993 end, a spiritual summit was held at the Maronite Patriarchate in Bkerke, grouping the heads of all Lebanese religious communities, both Muslim and Christian, dated August 2, 1993. A-On the Muslim side:

Three persons representing the three Muslim communities:

2 - Mr. Saud Al Maula, representing the Shiite Supreme Council. (Chaired at the time by late Sheikh Mohammed Mehdi Shams - Eddine).

B-On the Christian side:

Subsequently some steps have been taken in the Committee are:

Appointment of two secretaries general, one Christian and one Muslim. The Emir Hares Chehab was elected Secretary General as well as Mr. Mohammed Sammak, a position he continues to practice.

2 - The Greek-Catholic Patriarchate has changed its representative, replacing Mgr. Salim El Ghazal (promoted Bishop and Patriarchal Vicar General) by Mr. Camille Menassa. This change was motivated by the desire to have only civilian in the Committee.

3 - The Druze Sheikh Akl proceeded to replace Mr. Takieddine by Judge Mr. Abbas Halabi.

4 - Mr. Michel Abs was appointed by the Orthodox Patriarchate to replace Mr.Gabriel Habib.

5 - Dr. Ali El Hassan has been appointed by the Shiite Supreme Council to replace Mr. Saoud El Maula.

The activity of the Committee:

* The Committee meets regularly in the respective offices of the two Secretaries General. He has taken positions on several developments during the period following its formation. Decisions are taken by mutual agreement between the members.

* The Committee has prepared a working paper published on 01/05/1995 unified, representative for the first time in Lebanon, the view of religious writing on the Lebanese current situation in the country, as well as design role in Lebanon, and their vision for solving the problems to which it faces. The publication of this announcement has been welcomed by various authorities including the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, many chiefs and leaders of political parties. Unfortunately the recommendations advocated by this document have not received any application from the state. However, the Committee continues its efforts to enforce them and by ensuring the widest possible dissemination.

* The Committee continues its work through conferences, televised debates, meetings and camps, youth work, so many themes that the press gives each a very wide coverage. Its members are regularly invited to international conferences and symposia on topics of the Dialogue.

Van Impe leaves TBN over �Chrislam� remarks

(RNS) Jack Van Impe, a popular End Times broadcaster, has ended his decades-long run on Trinity Broadcasting Network after a dispute over naming ministers that he accuses of mixing Christian and Muslim beliefs.
Earlier this month, Van Impe named California megachurch founders Rick Warren and Robert H. Schuller as proponents of �Chrislam,� which he defined as �a uniting of Christianity with Islam.� TBN pulled the episode before a repeat broadcast could air.

Michigan-based Jack Van Impe Ministries said its board of directors decided unanimously Thursday (June 17) to no longer work with TBN.

�We would not be able to minister effectively if we had to look over our shoulder wondering if a program was going to be censored because of mentioning a name,� said Ken Vancil, executive director of the ministry, in a statement.
TBN president and founder Paul Crouch expressed disappointment with the ministry�s decision.

�Although I understand, and actually agree with, your position that you �will not allow anyone to tell me what I can and cannot preach,� I trust you understand that TBN takes the same position with its broadcast air time as well,� Crouch wrote in a letter to Van Impe.

Van Impe�s program cited Warren�s speech to an Islamic conference in Washington in 2009 and Schuller�s keynote address at an interfaith conference called �A Common Word� in 2008.

Van Impe and his co-host wife, Rexella, also claimed Warren said churches can attract new believers by taking crosses down from inside and outside their buildings.

In a June 8 tweet, Warren said just the opposite: �If you remove the cross from the church, it�s no longer the church. Just a social club.�

How Does a Third of the Sea Turn to Blood?

There is a prophecy in the Bible that has yet to be fulfilled and it is found in Revelation chapter 8. Here trumpets are blown and something catastrophic occurs on the earth. In verse 8, the second trumpet sounds and a third of the seas turn to blood. I have struggled with the understanding of this because if you pour a pail of blood into a swimming pool and turn on the pump to create a current, the blood will dissipate rather than stay confined to a third of the pool. So what could Revelation be trying to reveal?
Let's consider the possibility of Red Tides. This is a natural phenomenon that can occur when the conditions are exactly right. These Red Tides are caused when large masses of red algae form or 'bloom' and float to the surface of the water. The algae holds together and spreads very rapidly covering thousands of square of miles. This will actually turn the surface of the water a shade of red. The algae also produces a toxin that will kill all marine life - including animals and humans that consume them. This is also mentioned in Revelation in describing the event of the bloody seas.
Here are a few facts about Red Tides:
- Algae Karenia Brevis
- Cooking the infected fish will not kill the toxin
- High winds and water temps along with low rainfall can trigger growth
- Causes ear, eye and breathing problems for humans near the shoreline

Can we also find clues in other parts of Scripture that help to back this theory? I believe we have it in Exodus chapter 7. When God sent the plagues to the people of Egypt, the bloody water also occurred here. In verse 19, the water from the Nile that was collected in the stone jars and pots had turned to blood. Algae will and can form in small containers - get a fish bowl. Also in verse 24, the Egyptians are said to have dug wells beside the river to collect fresh water. Here is the clue that Red Tides also occurred at this time. Red algae cannot form or contaminate water below the ground's surface. The Egyptians knew this.
Will we see on a very large scale, one of apocalyptic nature, the appearance of Red Tides upon the earth. So severe that a third of our oceans are affected?

The United States in End Times Prophecy

United States in End Times Prophecy

Even though the Bible was written long before the United States was even discovered, did God place this country in End Times prophecy? I believe so, in a roundabout way. Go to the book of Revelation and in chapter 8 there is mentioned a series of trumpets. I want to focus on the first trumpet. When this trumpet is blown, something devastating happens upon the earth and with this first trumpet - a third of the earth is burned up and with it all the green grass and trees.
Let's do the process of elimination and understand which part of the world is then 'the third'. I believe that the government of the Antichrist will come from the revived Roman Empire (according to Daniel). This then will leave out the areas of Europe and mainly Italy. Next comes the large continent of Asia and since the 200 million man army comes from this region, this is also excluded. Next the Middle East. We can know that Israel is most definitely involved in the end because Armageddon is located here. Next view the continent of Africa, the northern half is mostly comprised of arid deserts and the existence of green grass and trees is not a description that fits.
That leaves the continents of North and South America. Canada has vast plains and trees and America is known as the 'Bread Basket of the World'. Included with this region is also the Ring of Fire. This line of volcanic mountains stretches from Alaska all the way down the coast of South America. In addition, the state of Colorado has a tourist spot called the Continental Divide. From this location the water from a snowball will either flow to the west or to the east depending on which direction it is thrown. Among these Rocky Mountains, there lies Yellowstone National Park. If Yellowstone blows, the lava flows would cover most of the United States with either lava or massive forest fires. Read further in Revelation chapter 8 and what is mentioned there certainly sounds like a series of volcanic eruptions - which may directly involve the United States in End Time prophecy! It is also ironic that the movie 2012 also depicted the volcano disaster in Yellowstone as a means of destroying the U.S.

The Gulf Oil Spill - A Sign of the Apocalypse?

With the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico and millions of gallons of oil spewing into it. The question has been raised about whether this could be the prophecy of the waters turning to blood mentioned in the book of Revelation.
The answer is both yes and no. There are two separate prophecies in Revelation that speak of �blood� and the sea. I believe one of the prophecies holds a clue to its interpretation with the disaster now forming in our waters and on the shores of four states.
This prophecy of turning water into blood is found in Revelation 16:3, in pouring out the second bowl of God�s wrath upon the earth.
[The second angel poured out his bowl upon the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead man, and every living thing in the sea died.]
Not many of us can know or have experienced what happens to the human body after life has gone from it. However, once blood stops flowing, it begins to clot and thicken.
The scenes that came from the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, reminded me of thickened, bloody water.
Pictures showing birds trapped in slime so thick they couldn�t move. Cleanup crews showing the sludge oozing from the bottom of boots and ends of gloves after being dipped in the water. Even the color seemed reddish, but it was the sludge that came on shore that may have provided the clue to explaining this plague and what is expected when the Apocalypse finally occurs.
The sea, filling up with oil causing it to thicken. Clots of oil forming and washing up on beaches. As a result, everything in the sea will die. Including all marine life that depend on it.

The other prophecy concerning the bloody seas is found in Revelation 8:8, with the sounding of the second trumpet. It will be yet another disaster which occurs, but will not involve oil.
[The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.]
Looking at this prophecy closely, the plague is caused by a mountain being cast into the sea. The ships are destroyed in the wake of the splash, not the effects of blood.
Regardless of that, the clues given here do not fit the description of a massive oil spill.
Take a gallon of blood or even oil, pour it into a swimming pool, then turned on the pump to create a current. The blood would dissipate and turn the entire pool�s water pink. The oil would follow the current in ribbons like we already have witnessed. The blood/oil does not stay confined to one area. So how does the sea stay one-third red considering the ocean currents?
I struggled with this question for some time. However, I believe this is the correct explanation:
Some time after studying this passage, my son came home from school and asked for a glass jar. He needed to collect some pond water for his sixth grade Biology class, as they were studying water ecosystems. He asked me about the colors of algae that form in a pond. I answered him to the best of my knowledge, back from my high school Biology class. He said they studied in class that day a form of red algae. I commented with not too much interest until he stated, �Red algae forms in oceans and floats to the surface of water, making the water appear red and it kills all the fish.� Now I paid attention! I had an explanation I could work with on how the sea turns to blood.
First of all, there is an upset of balance from the splash of the mountain. Algae spreads quickly when there is imbalance in the water�s ecosystem.
Take this into consideration: Red Tides are caused when large masses of red algae form or �bloom� and float to the surface of water. The natural phenomenon will actually turn the surface of the water red, emitting toxins which are fatal to marine life. Some fish are affected by the algae accumulating in their gills, causing suffocation. Other fish are killed by the toxin itself, including the animals and humans who eat infected fish.
The explanation of how a third of the sea is turned to blood is revealed, for this type of algae holds together, and spreads rapidly over the surface of water.
Another clue of red algae is found in Exodus 7:24. The Egyptians dug wells along the Nile River to retrieve fresh water. The plague of �bloody water� occurred here as well. Fresh water was available only as ground water - red algae is not able to grow below the ground�s surface.
In addition, in Exodus 7:19. Water stored in buckets and stone jars could not have turned to blood as a result of oil in the water. However, it would make sense if red algae developed after supposedly clean water was collected.
Is the Gulf oil spill a glimpse of what is to come? Maybe what we are witnessing now if just the beginning of the End.

US PREPARING FORCES FOR POSSIBLE CONFLICT WITH IRAN

The US does not want to see confrontation with Iran but is still preparing its military for that possibility, America's top uniformed officer said Thursday.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Navy. Adm. Michael Mullen:
"We've looked to do all we can to ensure that conflict doesn't break out there, while at the same time preparing forces, as we do for many contingencies that we understand might occur," Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said during an appearance at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
Mullen had been asked whether the US military was stretched too thin to take further action in trouble spots beyond Iraq and Afghanistan.
"We're very hard-pressed right now" because of the two wars, he noted, but added that it is primarily ground troops that have been deployed, and "the likelihood that our ground forces would have to go somewhere in these kinds of numbers in some other part of the world, or even in the same region, I think is pretty low."
Many experts assess that any American military engagement with Iran would most likely rely on air and naval power.

My answer:
A strike from Israel will be expected� but Obama put himself in an awkward situation, by making friends out of terrorists and those countries who support them. Here is another report on what our President has done with his power�(Iran has got to be smiling, I feel sorry for Israel who thought the US would push for tough sanctions, actually promised them, and now has pulled away.)

Taking advantage of the ado surrounding the failed airliner bombing and the new prominence of the al Qaeda peril, the Obama administration has finally given up its sanctions strategy for averting the rise of a nuclear-armed Iran. US secretary of state Hillary Clinton was tasked with the public announcement: "The Obama administration wants to keep the door to dialogue open with Iran," she said Jan. 4, then added a remark which let Iran off completely of the American hook: "...although the United States has avoided using the term deadline, it cannot wait indefinitely to hear form Iran."

I see the possibility of a few outcomes here: Give me your thoughts�
1). This statement from Mike Mullen is a bluff, all talk, to get the rest of world to take action against Iran and quickly, before the US threatens to make a mess.
2) This is a statement of war to come. Israel and the US will join together on this attack and get rid of this scumbag in Iran for good. Maybe that troop surge in Afghanistan was for a ground invasion of Iran, not the Taliban. We are always not told everything.

3) If Iran sees any movement of the US navy heading towards them - you can plan on attacks on American soil by all those �sleeper cells� we let in. The threat of an EMP (Electronic Magnetic Pulse) bomb is greatly enhanced also. Iran already has the technology to explode one of these over America. This is detonated in the atmosphere, way above land. The force of the explosion will take out every electric grid that is below. This could happen over a major city, or a large explosion could effect an entire region of the country�. Sending us back to the 1800�s.
Maybe it would be a good idea for people to start taking measures to ensure the necessities of survival. Get extra food and water in your house, flashlights� just like you would prepare for a major storm.

4) We can wait for dialogue to work. Let the �Peace Prize Winner� do his job.

St. Malachy's Prophecy - Will the next Pope be the last?

ST. MALACHY�S PROPHECY

We can always know for certain that the prophecies made in the Bible about the return of Jesus Christ will definitely come to pass. However, once in awhile I come across a prophecy that is not based on the Bible but yet is interesting and actually fun to study. This vision or prophecy made by a bishop 800 years ago is one that I find intriguing, and there is not much time left to wait and see if his last prediction comes true.
It would seem that the story of his account goes something like this: A bishop by the name of Malachy, who in 1139 received a vision on unfolding the long line of popes in the Holy Roman Catholic Church.
The list of popes started with Pope Celestine II who was alive at the time of St. Malachy. Then in succession, it lists all of the popes who followed him - up to the current one, Pope Benedict XVI. The names of the popes are not given, (except the last one) but instead a description of each one is written down in a Latin word or two. Needless to say, there are many skeptics who claim that the list of popes is a forgery or inaccurate.
Regardless, even if the notion is far fetched, the end of the list is nearly completed. In addition, what is even more intriguing is that there is room for only ONE more picture in the line of papal portraits at the Vatican gallery. Does this indicate that the pope to follow Benedict XVI will be the final one? Many interpret this to mean that the end of the world will occur during the reign of this last Pope, and St. Malachy also prophesied it. An interesting note here: During the reign of Pope John Paul II, the Vatican voted to change the rules concerning the required age of the Pope. The new rule stated that cardinals who were considered papal-elect had to be over the age of 70, but under 80 years old. The thinking behind this was for more cardinals to have the chance at being Pope, but it mainly was to limit the length of reign. Once the Pope is elected, he holds this place of honor until his death. Pope John Paul II was in the Vatican for over 25 years, and maybe some thought that was too long. With the new rule in place, Joseph Ratzinger was already 78 years old when he became Pope in 2005 - the next one is coming soon!
I listed below only the last five pontiffs and what St. Malachy wrote about them, both in the original Latin and the translation. The complete list can be found online with dozens of sites to choose from.

Pope John XXIII (1958-1963) - Pastor et Nauta (pastor and marine)
History: Prior to his election he was patriarch of Venice, a marine city.

Pope Paul VI (1963-1978) - Flos florum (flower of flowers)
History: His coat of arms showed a picture of three lilies.

Pope John Paul I (1978) - De medietate Lunae (of half the moon)
History: He was born in the diocese of Belluno, (beautiful moon). Elected
on August 26 and reigned only one month, from half a moon to the next half.

Pope John Paul II (1978-2005) - De labore Solis (of the eclipse of the sun, or from the labor of the sun)
History: Karol Wojtyla was born on May 18, 1920 during a solar eclipse
and his funeral occurred on April 8, 2005 when a solar eclipse was
visible in the Americas.

Pope Benedict XVI (2005-) - Gloria olivae (Glory of the Olives)
History: Joseph Ratzinger was a member of the Benedictine order called
the Olivetans.

The Next Pope (in the future) - In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebi Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in
multis tribulation bus: quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, &
Judex tremedus judecabit populum suum. Finis.

This Latin phrase used for the final Pope is the only one that has more than three words. In fact, this Pope has a description that is so exact - it names the Pope outright. Here is the translation:

In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church
will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep
through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven
hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people.
The End.

Will the next Pope choose his name to be Pope Peter or a name like it? St. Malachy predicts the new Pontiff will come from Italy or Rome. In John chapter 21, Jesus instructs PETER to feed the sheep, and in Matthew 16:18, Jesus tells PETER that he is the rock that the Church will be built upon. We also know that the city built on seven hills is in fact, Rome. Will the Vatican be destroyed? I believe this to be true, based on the clues given in Revelation.

Why the Antichrist will be the next Pope

The three digits of 666. No other sequence of numbers have ever been so debated, discussed, and detested for hundreds of years. Everyone seems to know the ominous feeling when the number is mentioned but not everyone knows why or even where the �number of evil� came from. It is found in only one place in the Bible, the last book called Revelation.

Revelation 13:18 This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man�s number. His number is 666.
There are a couple of reasons why I think that God reveals one of the darkest secrets of all mankind into a form of a riddle or code. One is to get the reader to study the clues given throughout the Bible so that the riddle can be solved. We are required to look for the answers and yes, even debate them. To study the Word of God closely will also bring you closer to Him.
The other reason is that the apostle John was exiled or imprisoned on the Island of Patmos when he received the vision that the book of Revelation is about. As you will later study with me, John foresees a rise of a new empire in the future and if he had written down the prophecy in the exact words, without codes and symbols - the Roman government would have confiscated the writings and they would have never got into the hands of those who were in charge of writing the New Testament. Also, he probably would have been charged with conspiracy or treason against the Roman government, and then would have certainly been executed.
For whatever the reason, much of Revelation is confusing to the reader. However, it can be explained and especially with the clues matching up in today�s world - the Antichrist can also be exposed!
To get a better understanding of this verse and start the calculation, we need to understand a few things first.
At the time when John wrote Revelation, the only languages used during this period of the Roman Empire were Greek and Latin. The only system of numbers used was the Roman numerals. This will be the first set of clues to start with. We need to use the language and the numeral system that was in place at that time, when the �code� was written. What I find amazing is that these two systems are still intact and used today, even in every day life - all around the world! The Latin language is still used in naming species of animal life, constellations in astronomy, just to name a few. Roman numerals are still used on clocks, behind the names of people (John Doe III), or even in the sequence of the Super Bowl.
Over the years, many people have tried to put the title of the Antichrist upon many different leaders. Hitler was thought to be the one by those of his day, and Ronald Wilson Reagan also was named the Antichrist because of the six letters in each part of his name. However, the mistake lies in that the name must have original Greek or Latin text, and be able to add the values of the letters together to total 666.
Do we have such a name today? Yes we do! I will go ahead and give the name and calculation of it first, and then I will explain how this name came about and the other clues that the Bible gives which support my findings. I know to some of the readers this will seem impossible, maybe downright offensive. Please stay with me and allow the Word of God to confirm what I am about to reveal. Go to the next page.

VICARIUS FILII DEI

Translated from Latin, this means Vicar of the Son of God. Now the letter values and the sum of them:

D = 500 C = 100 L = 50 U,V = 5 I = 1

�This calls for wisdom, if anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast.� These Roman numerals were used in the day of John and they are still calculated in the same way for us today. The letter �U� however was not introduced into the alphabet as an individual letter until the 1300�s, when the written language took on more new words. In early Latin, the U and the V were considered one in the same. In fact, the U always followed the letter V whenever the V was in a word. Since the U was considered the same letter as the V in ancient Roman times, the value of it is also the same as the V.

We now know that the name and the numbers when calculated add to the right amount. But how did we get the name �Vicarius Filii Dei� to begin with? That now becomes a study in early Church history starting with the reign of the Roman emperor Constantine.
In 312AD, Constantine delivers the Edict of Milan. This edict or command stated that all persecution of Christians was to end. This came about when Constantine had a vision of a cross that caused him to convert to Christianity and that in it resulted in many changes to the early Church.
As Constantine became more powerful, the Roman Empire also grew larger in size. It was during the reign of Constantine that the Roman Empire was split into two, the Eastern Empire was controlled by the emperor himself from Constantinople in Greece. The Western half, which included Italy and the city of Rome, was given to the bishop of the Church in Rome in a formal document called the �Donation of Constantine�. In this document, Constantine called the bishop (in Latin) the �Vicar of the Son of God�, or �Vicarius Filii Dei�. This was the birth name or title first given to Pope Sylvester I. The title remained for the popes who followed him as well.
The Holy Roman Catholic Church abused the power of the document for it gave the church sole authority over all the affairs of Rome, not just the affairs of the church. For over a thousand years, the medieval popes upheld the document to increase their secular power, despite many attempts by others to prove that the document was a fake. Even the church had leaders who questioned the authenticity of the document. It wasn�t until 1612, when a professor by the name of Andeas Helwig, identified that �Vicarius Filii Dei� was the ominous number of the beast in Revelation. That propelled the Catholic Church to deny the existence of such a document, and if it did exist - it was a forgery!
The church changed the name of the Pope�s title to �Vicarius Christus�, which translated means �Vicar of Christ� - the calculation now does not add up. Unfortunately, there was never any other proof of the

title being applied to the Pope. Pictures in those days were painted and the papal crown, which would have bore the title, was too blurred to make out any words. Many critics of the Catholic Church believe that the Vatican would have destroyed all evidence of the original title anyway. I feel that the evidence is compelling, or at least intriguing.
Now put that aside for a moment. Could there be other clues in the Bible that God gives us, which point to the possibility of the next pope being the Antichrist?
What needs to be considered is that the Antichrist is not alone. The beast that comes out of the sea, the Great Prostitute, the red dragon(Satan) and the false prophet all work together as an �evil web�. They are interconnected and each plays a role in the kingdom of Satan. Let�s examine the Great Prostitute and the beast out of the sea, and then it should become clear how these all link to the rule/rise of the Catholic Church.
BEFORE I GO ANY FURTHER!!

This is to be made clear! This rise of the religion of the Catholic Church is not a reflection of all Catholics! Are there believers in the Catholic Church? Yes!! And yes again!!

Revelation 18: Then I heard another voice from heaven say: �Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues.�
Jesus is calling His people to leave this church, this religion. (I�ll explain the woman next) There are going to be followers of Christ caught up in the throws and upheavals of the Catholic faith. I feel that these believers will be persecuted with great severity as they struggle to leave the Catholic Church. They are the ones that the Antichrist will consider traitors and the most damaging to his cause.

Daniel 11:37 He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above all.
Daniel here prophesied that the Antichrist will �lose the faith of his fathers�. The pope will have no interest at all in the things of God, or the adoration of the Virgin Mary. The Antichrist is only interested in the worship of himself. A true, believing Catholic could never accept this theology, and would be forced to leave the Catholic religion - but NOT the faith. That faith will be within themselves, as with all children of God!

There are several other links to the Antichrist. As I stated before, the Antichrist does not work alone, but is part of a network of evil. To show an opposite example, the Bride of Christ are all believing Christians who have been made pure by the blood of the cross. The exact opposite of a virgin bride is a whore or a prostitute, this is the symbolism used to describe the Great Prostitute - the side of evil.

The Great Prostitute

All women mentioned in Revelation are metaphors to describe a religion, a movement with a religious base, or a large group of people who share a common belief. The Great Prostitute (or some Bible translations have the Great Harlot), is no different. This is a religion mentioned here in Revelation, see if you can see the correlation to the Catholic Church.

Revelation 17:1b �Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits on many waters.�
Revelation 17:15 Then the angel said to me, �The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are

peoples, multitudes, nations and languages.�
This religion is worldwide. It is practiced or has churches(sits) in many areas of the globe(many waters).

Revelation 17:3b There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.
This religion rides on the back of the Antichrist. The woman has no control of it, the Antichrist will take her wherever he wants to go, and uses her to kill those who oppose him. I�ll describe the beast next.

Revelation 17:4a The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls.
What other religion can you imagine that has more pomp and glitz than the Roman Catholic Church? Even the colors of purple and scarlet are accurate here. Gold? Ever look inside the old cathedrals in Europe? - They are beautiful, with gold overlays on just about everything. The Catholic Church likes to show off, just watch Christmas mass at the Vatican some time on television.
This is where I would argue the rise of Islam as the Antichrist. This description here is in no way close to describing the Muslim faith. Muslims worship on straw or woven rugs with their faces in the dust, their imams are dressed very simply, not much different from the worshippers themselves. Bishops and cardinals are dressed like royalty and walk around to be noticed.

Revelation 17:4b She held a golden cup in her hand.
The most important sacrament in the Catholic Church is Holy Communion. Not too long ago, the golden goblet was so holy and important, that only the priest could touch it with his hands. It is considered extreme discipline to withhold communion from a Catholic. In addition, to this day the communion cup is golden.

Revelation 17:6,7a I saw that that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly astonished. Then the angel said to me: �Why are you astonished?�
John, seeing all this happening is surprised. The Living Bible translates the word �astonished� for �horrified�. Why does God reveal the emotion of John in this verse? I believe it is just another clue. As unbelievable as it could be, it is the Roman Catholic Church who persecutes the believers. That is why John is �horrified�. The Church as he knew it was always persecuted. However, it was done by the hand of pagans, pagan governments, or Jews (those who thought Christians were inferior). He NEVER would have imagined that a �Christian church�, one that follows Christ - would ever kill its own. Does this bring to mind the Inquisition? The Roman Catholic Church tortured and killed many of its own, in the name of Christ.

Revelation 17:18 The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.
This verse takes some careful thought. The woman is a religion, which is also a city. It becomes a government that the Antichrist uses to rule and control the whole earth. Does anything in history repeat itself?
The woman is also part of the beast that comes out of the sea. I think the best clue to the identity of the woman, is when the beast is described. Here the city that she stands for is unmistakable! This next section that describes the beast should send a shudder through everyone who reads it.

The Beast Out of the Sea
This metaphor of a beast is referring to a government, or a form of organized authority. It is the kingdom of the Antichrist.

Revelation 13:1b And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.
Revelation 17:9 This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits.

Time to take a breath here and think clearly! This section of my article is beyond belief, even God warns the reader that it is profound! I will explain this as well as God allows me. You may have to reread this part over more that once to grasp the depth and insight that God provides.
This government comes out of the sea. It has to be geographically surrounded by water, or a sea to come out of it. If you can imagine the country of Italy - it is surrounded by water on three sides. It is always easy to spot on a map because of its boot-shaped land area jutting out in the Mediterranean Sea. In addition, the �sea� has always been referred to as the Mediterranean.
The seven heads are also seven hills. The �City That Sits on Seven Hills� - where is that? It is located in Italy, it is the city of Rome! Rome was known in John�s day to sit on seven hills geographically. If you would ask a travel agent today, for information on a vacation to �The City of Seven Hills� - you would be sent to Rome. In argument, it could be said that there are other cities built on seven hills. Rio de Janeiro is one of many. However, there is only ONE where the entire city is confined to a religion.
The Vatican has always been linked to Rome. The name of the religion was always referred to as the Holy ROMAN Catholic Church. Remember, the woman we already identified is the religion of the Catholic Church. The �City� we know is Rome. Where does the religion of the Catholicism �sit�? We can understand that Mormonism �sits� in Utah. We know that Judaism �sits� in Jerusalem. We can now conclude that Catholism �sits� in Rome!

Revelation 17:10 They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come.
The seven heads are also a symbol for seven kings or KINGDOMS. These are kingdoms or empires that have ruled the area surrounding the Mediterrean. There have only been SIX empires from the history of the world. Here they are in order of existence: Egyptian, Assyrian, Babylonian, Medo -Persian, Greek and Roman.
At the time of John, five of these empires(kings) had already fallen. The �one is� was the current Roman Empire who now ruled the area after the death of Alexander the Great, a Greek. The �other� was not in power yet. There has been no ruling empire since the fall of Rome. It is still coming - the empire of the Antichrist.
This exact same symbolism can be found in Daniel�s interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar�s dream. It also holds a clue to what the next �king� will be. Found in Daniel chapter 2, the statue represented the empires that were to come to power. The head of gold was the Babylonian Empire controlled by Nebuchadnezzar himself. His successor was conquered by the Medo-Persians (also recorded in Daniel) which were the chest and arms of silver. These are split to show the empire was divided in two - the Medes and the Persians ruled the area together. Next came the bronze belly and thighs, representing the kingdom of Greece. The legs of the statue are made of iron, and split. This represents the Roman

Empire split into the Western and Eastern Empires. The clue lies in the feet of the statue which is made up of both iron and clay. The feet represent the final �king� or the Antichrist - who is partly iron, which is Roman! The feet are also split, remember this. - I�ll get to that explanation later in the article.

Revelation 17:12 The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast.
The feet of the statue also have ten toes. These ten toes are both iron and clay, they do not mix well or hold together well. This indicates that there will be ten other kings under the authority of the Antichrist who help rule the world, but they don�t get along with each other. I will make a guess here. I think some of these ten kings may be Muslim governments. That is why they don�t mix well with a religion that is not based on Islam or the teachings of Mohammed. The �one hour� shows that their rule is short-lived.

Revelation 17:16 The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.
Here is another clue! The Antichrist and the ten kings will hate and destroy the religion! Why? Because the religion is based on Jesus Christ! Satan actually gives his power entirely over to the Antichrist, and Satan hates this religion as well. As a result, he will allow the Antichrist to destroy it!

Revelation 17:10b � but when he does come, he must remain for a little while.
The reign of the Antichrist will be short, he will sign a treaty with Israel and many other nations for seven years. (Daniel 9:27) - The length of the Tribulation period. He takes total control of the whole world at the halfway mark.

Revelation 17:11a The beast who once was, and now is not, is the eighth king.
This is where in the description of the beast or Antichrist, that things get really weird! I have struggled with explaining this until recently. I have never found any other explanation that satisfies this prophecy - but I think I got it right.
Go back to the staute in Nebuchadnezzar�s dream. The feet are split, so the kingdom of the Antichrist can be split as well. We know that the Tribulation is the time period of his kingdom. This time period of seven years is split. At the three and a half year mark - he enters the temple that is to be built in Jerusalem, and claims to be God. It is at this point, that many Bible scholars call the start of the Great Tribulation - because of the intense persecution against the believers. This is a possibility. However, I find something else. Could the split in the feet be an explanation for a split personality? Look more closely at the verse.
If the SEVENTH king is the Antichrist - then WHO is the EIGHTH one?!

Revelation 17:11b He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.
The SEVENTH and the EIGHTH kings are one in the same! It is the last or the eighth one that is destroyed. It is revealed a little more next:

Revelation 17:8a The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and will come out of the Abyss and go to his destruction.
Go with me slowly! The beast is the one the woman was riding on, or at the time that the Catholic

Church takes an evil path. This eighth king �once was�. It is an individual who had lived BEFORE the
time of John. The king �now is not�. So this individual is DEAD at the time of John. �And will come out of the Abyss�. This person, the SECOND or other person of the Antichrist�s split personality will come out of hell! This Pope will have two personalities! The second one rears its ugly head halfway in the Tribulation period. This second �person� will come directly out of hell and invade the body of the Pope! Are you thinking I am nuts at this point? Read further IN THE BIBLE!!

Revelation 17:8b The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come.
All the world, especially the unbelievers will be amazed, maybe even horrified! Why? BECAUSE this �new� person coming out is from the past! He lived nearly 2000 years ago, before John had the experience on the Island of Patmos. Was dead at this time, probably around the year 80AD, when John wrote Revelation. Whoever this person was - he went to Hell. He also was a ruler of the Roman Empire(one of the seventh kings)!
Any thoughts on who it could be? I will go way out on a limb here! Who comes to mind if you describe a notorious Roman emperor? Anyone come to mind from your World History class that would have persecuted Christians? How about someone who was famous enough that all you had to say was his first name and just about everyone would know who you were talking about. One more hint� He was known to have played his fiddle(lyre) while Rome burned.

Think about this. Nero was dead (he killed himself) before John was imprisoned. The emperor Domitian was the one who exiled John to the Island of Patmos. Nero would not have spared John�s life.
Nero was obviously a Roman Emperor. Nero was known to be the most cruel of all those who persecuted the Christians. This is just a thought. If any of you have a different person that it could be - please let me know.

How would the scenario occur should the Antichrist/Pope have a split personality? This type of mental illness is more commonly called Multiple Personality Disorder and is sometimes triggered by a trauma of a mental or physical nature.

Revelation 13:3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal would had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.
Here may be the answer to that question. One of the heads, or one of the kings receives a fatal wound. A fatal wound causes death, but this wound is healed and the king comes back to life! The only king this could have happened to, is one that has not yet reigned - the Antichrist. This �assassination� is mentioned three times in this chapter. If something is repeated, it needs to have attention. If the Pope is assassinated, and the entire world sees him come back to life - that would be amazing in itself! What if the Pope comes back to life a different character? The possibility now seems likely that this is when the eighth king comes to power. This is the one who comes from Hell and has received authority from Satan himself. He enters the dead body of the Pope and possesses it like a demon.
What I find so interesting is a ritual carried out by the Catholic Church that was never taught by Jesus or the disciples. This ritual would actually play an important role at this turning point in the future.
It is a ritual that occurs at the time of death for every pope. When a cardinal becomes a pope, he chooses a man to be his �Carmerlengo�. The Carmerlengo has the job of declaring the pope officially dead. This seems crazy� the pope is declared dead by a medical examiner and the body is given to the Carmerlengo. He in turn, takes a silver hammer and taps the pope three times on the forehead, calling

out the pope�s birth name with each tap. If the pope does not respond - he is declared dead! I am not kidding! I followed this on the news when Pope John Paul II died. Why did a silly idea such as this, remain on the Roman Catholic Church�s �to do list�? I honestly think it is for this exact day and time!

The Image of the Beast

In Revelation 13, after the Antichrist is allowed to conquer the saints or believers, another beast or authority emerges from �the land�. The land here I think refers to Israel. This person or government is also called the False Prophet, and may be a Jew. He would be considered the sidekick to the Antichrist, because he can only perform magic or miracles in the presence of the Antichrist. These miracles will be so spectacular that they will fool the people in making an image or statue of the Antichrist.

Revelation 13:15 He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.
This false prophet will make the statue breathe and come to life! Is it possible to have a computer or robot think independently? It will happen! Either you choose to worship this statue or you will DIE!
This is when the Mark of the Beast is put into practice. The people, who do not get this mark, will be easy to identify and life will be become even more difficult for those who don�t worship or follow the Antichrist.

The Mark of the Beast

Revelation 13:16,17 He forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
If you get one thing out of this article, make sure you never forget this warning: If you take a mark, a tattoo, or anything that resembles an imprint that can be seen or be made visible using a device - on your right hand or forehead, this is a sign that you support and worship the Antichrist. You will receive as your punishment, the wrath of God in the end.

Revelation 14:9 A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: �If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink the wine of God�s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.�
You will spend your eternity in a burning hole. I find no place in the Bible that states this mark can be removed once it is received. When you make the choice to worship and follow the Antichrist, you will meet your doom! Don�t be fooled! Satan is the father of all lies, and what would seem the only choice you have is to take the mark, think again! It will be a choice of eternal life or death!

Seas that turn to blood

Revelation mentions a plague that comes upon the earth with the second trumpet. Seas that look like blood. What could that mean?
There is a natural phenomenon called 'red tides'.

These tides are caused by red algae that blooms rapidly in unbalanced water. It rises to the surface of the water and groups together in large masses. When in large masses, it will emit a toxin that is fatal to all fish from the very small to large whales. It will collect in the gills of fish and suffocate, and even birds or humans can become very sick when the fish are consumed. The surface of the water will actually turn red. This may be a clue to the Revelation's prophecy of a third of the seas turning red like blood and a third of all the fish will die. Revelation 8:9.

I won�t believe it unless I see it with my own eyes.

I came home from work and went upstairs. In my daughter�s bedroom I found her dead and covered in blood .

Beside her was a man with blood on his hands who said I just killed your daughter. He sat there in a chair waiting and staring.

There must have been a struggle as this man�s blood was on the walls, parts of his clothing had been ripped his hair had been pulled.

There was evidence of him everywhere.
I called the police and upon arresting this man they searched the back yard and found the knife used to kill my daughter buried in the back yard. It too was covered in blood..

They interviewed my neighbour and his wife and took a written statement from them. My neighbours saw this man with a knife in his hands breaking into my house. They were great witnesses.

It took six months to get to court and finally when we got into court,, the judge said,,

�Unless I see it with my own eyes I won�t believe it.�

Your honour I cried, I have statements, witnesses, the forensic evidence is everywhere? The police dug up the knife with the killer�s blood on it.

The judge said, �If I don�t see it with my owns eyes I can�t convict him sorry�.

Well what about the fact that the killer admitted it to police. The police themselves have given you sworn evidence about what this man said.

� What is it about unless I see it with my own eyes I won�t believe it� You don�t understand?

I am setting his man free now get out of my court room I have a rape case to judge next.
Imagine what it would be like if we all maintained this policy of our belief system.

Yes our justice system can be flawed, but life decisions involving life and death are made everyday based on the evidence and not seeing it with our own eyes.
