The United Nations has established the “Alliance of Civilizations” to show that the path to world peace will come through religious tolerance. Their state mission is to eliminate all “religious fundamentalism” and those who think that they have a sole lock on the truth. Unfortunately, as usual, the demand for “tolerance” results in intolerance of Christians.
This elimination of all opposition is a natural first step toward the creation of a one-world religion that can be controlled from a central nexus. The “image that speaks” could be television or holograms or some other technology that Daniel couldn't explain in any better way.
It also prophecies that a mark will be forced on everyone that will restrict them from the monetary system – essentially starving anyone that doesn't obey this new order. This is a powerful reason to obey and the vast majority of the world will give in. What might this mark be? It could be an RFID (radio frequency identification) tag embedded under the skin with all your personal information. There is also now a magnetic RFID tattoo that can be applied directly to the skin.
However this ends up manifesting, you need to be warned that this is how the Lord God Almighty feels about it:
9 Another angel, a third one, followed them, and said in a loud voice, “Whoever worships the beast or its statue, whoever is branded on his forehead or his hand, 10 will drink the wine of God's fury, which has been poured unmixed into the cup of God's anger. Then he will be tortured by fiery sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and the lamb. 11 The smoke from their torture will go up forever and ever.
There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast or its statue, or for anyone branded with its name.” 12 In this situation God's holy people, who obey his commands and keep their faith in Jesus, need endurance. Rev 14:9-12

United States Joins Alliance Of Civilizations
Sunday, 16 May 2010, 11:13 am
Press Release: United Nations
United States Joins Alliance Of Civilizations
The United States government today announced it is joining the UN Alliance of Civilizations. It will be the 100th member country of the initiative.
"I am pleased that the United States has announced its intention to join the Alliance of Civilizations," said UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. "The US will bring unique capabilities to this initiative, not least the great diversity and innovative character of the American people."
President Sampaio, High Representative for the UN Alliance of Civilizations, welcomed the decision. "The United States membership is a very significant opportunity to maintain the issue of cultural diversity high on the global agenda," he said.
The Alliance of Civilizations is a special project of the UN Secretary-General which seeks to counter the cultural and religious forces which can lead to extremism and polarization in society, and works to actively engage governments in support of civil society projects that help bring communities together.
The Alliance has already developed a number of partnerships with US-based organizations, and the entry of the US government into the Alliance is expected to lead to greater participation by US-based academic and research institutions, NGOs, businesses, religious and media groups.
"The goals and activities of the Alliance complement President Obama's vision of active U.S. engagement with other nations and international organizations to advance American security interests and meet the global challenges of the 21st century," said Philip Crowley, Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs.

Alliance of Death — What Herb Thinks
We have turned what Jesus said around. Friends, I fear it’s not going to be the way we were taught. Earthquakes, wars and rumors of war are not the sign of our Lord’s return — they are just the birth pangs. The sign is the apostasy and the rise of the man of sin. Jesus said:
You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
Now comes the sign. We know because Jesus starts by saying “then.” He says:
Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved (Matthew 24:4-13 New American Standard Bible).
First-century Christians understood the sign of our Lord’s return would be a great falling away and persecution of believers. That’s why, later, the Apostle John wrote:
Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour (1 John 2:18).
Today, as in John’s day, we’re witnessing the rise of many antichrists.
Yesterday, I actually heard a spokesman for an American Muslim organization say that Christian fundamentalists were responsible for the anger in the Arab streets. And he said that moderates of all religions must unite against all fundamentalists.
Before you think that this was just one person’s opinion, former Iranian president Mohammed Khatami apparently believes the same way. In fact, the International Herald Tribune reported that Khatami actually said that U.S. president Bush and Iran’s current president Ahmadinejad are “cut from the same cloth.” Read about it here (http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/09/13/opinion/edkhatami.php).
And, before you think what Khatami thinks doesn’t matter, Khatami is a founding member of the UN initiative sponsored by Spain and Turkey called the Alliance of Civilizations (AOC). The purpose of the AOC is, among other things, to fight religious fundamentalism See pdf here (http://www.fulfilledprophecy.com/workspace/aoc_11-05_alliance_of_death.pdf)
Every time I look at the initials of the Spanish initiative, AOC, I can’t help thinking about another set of initials — AOD. For us students of Bible prophecy, the initials AOD are for what Jesus called the “Abomination of Desolation.” If you recall, after Jesus spoke of a time of falling away of believers and persecution, He said:
Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand) Matthew 24:15).
So, when John said, “just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared”, he was thinking about what Jesus said about the sign of a great persecution and what would follow — the AOD.
Friends, although they call it the Alliance of Civilizations, it should be called the Alliance of Death. Why? Because, according to our Lord and Savior, it will lead to the AOD — after which a great time of distress and death for all civilizations will follow.
But, as they say, it’s always the darkest before the dawn. For us believers, the AOD will also lead to the OGH — Our Gathering to Him.
So, stay tuned!

The President may seem to be trying to make nice with Israel, but, at the same time, he has approved America's formal membership in the Alliance of Civilizations. This UN organization was founded in 2006 to bridge "the gaps between Muslim and Western civilizations." President Bush refused to join because he recognized that it would be used by hostile nations to bludgeon Israel. Sure enough, in the last four years the Alliance of Civilizations has promoted the idea that the main reason for the Muslim-Western rift is Israel, its settlement activity, and its very existence. Sounds like just the kind of organization President Obama would love. So, sign us up! Oh, that's right, he already has.

Ushering in the One-World Religion
RELIGION
Ushering in the One-World Religion
By Wendy Griffith
CBN News Reporter
The summit was endorsed by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan who said "the future of the world depends on women."
CBN.com GENEVA, Switzerland A one world government and a one world religion it may just sound like fiction from the popular "Left Behind" novel series. But some Christians say this scenario may be closer than most people think.
Earlier this fall in Geneva, hundreds of spiritual and religious leaders met at the United Nations for a peace summit. And although all the major faiths were there, including some who claim to represent Christianity, it was clear that Jesus was not invited.
The event was actually the first ever UN summit of women religious leaders. Mournful cries could be heard emanating from one of the meetings as more than 500 women from more than 70 countries came to talk about ways to achieve world peace. Most were from "Eastern religions" Buddhists, Taoists and Hindus.
And a woman named "Amma," who is known as the "hugging saint," came with her own band of followers. She claims to be able to impart "divine love and wisdom" in her hug. She said, "It's not only hugging but it is also imparting that spiritual principal into people, so to have them know who they are, so once you know that, peace will spontaneously happen."
Honorary Chair Shirley MacLaine, known for her adventures into New Age, did not show, but several celebrities did, including Linda Evans, Lindsay Wagner and Linda Gray of "Dallas" fame.
Gray said, "I was raised Catholic, I bless that base, I think if you have a strong religious base where, whatever it is, then you branch out from there, or expand on it."
The summit was endorsed by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan who said "the future of the world depends on women."
As the women gathered near the banks of beautiful Lake Geneva, Bawa Jain, one of the organizers and one of the few men present, said, "And behold the power of women, look at that, the rain stopped, (laughs) this is the power of women, a true demonstration here."
Bawa Jain then led the women in a chant for peace. "Say it with me three times, No more violence, No more violence, No more violence," he said.
Rev. Joan Brown Campbell, co-chair of the Global Peace Initiative, said, "The thunderclouds of war gather around us, the sky grows dark but it never does envelope us. In a few moments we will light a single candle, and from that candle many will receive the light and that light will shine in the darkness."
A participant named Hanna Strong said, "The only way we're ever going to have peace is by people being peaceful inside, no aggression, no hatred, we have to transform these negative emotions that are creating situations for war."
Although there was much talk about peace and how women can harness their "feminine energies" to bring peace to a hurting planet, there was no mention of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. Nor could we find any evangelical Christians either speaking at or attending this world religions summit.
Rev. Brown Campbell said, "That's not a purposeful intent. This is a meeting, of course, of people of all religions. And I think what we've all tried to do is to call on the common deity that everyone will say I mean everyone here would say there is a God, this is not a group of Atheists, this is a group of people of faith, and for everyone there is a god-person by whatever name."
When asked whether evangelical Christians were not invited on purpose, Rev. Brown Campbell said, "No, no, no, not at allthe attempt to be broad scale means there are not too many of any, and this is a first effort, identifying people was not simple."
The Geneva summit was a direct outcome of the Millennium World Peace Summit of religious and spiritual leaders held at the United Nations in New York two years ago. At that gathering, honorary chair and CNN founder Ted Turner endeared himself to the crowd by promoting the New Age concept that there are many ways to heaven.
"The thing that disturbed me was that my religion, the Christian sect, was very intolerant, not of religious freedom, but we thought we were the only ones going to heaven," Turner said.
The belief that there are many ways to heaven was also part of the New Age gospel at the Geneva summit. Strong said, "I'm very close to the Buddhists, the Taoists, the native Americans and uh, peace to me is being one with the source." When asked if she was referring to God "the Creator," she said, "Well, I don't necessary call it Creator, but, it's one name."
Robert Maginnis, a former director of the Family Research Council, said of the summit, "Well, I can see the possibility that it's the globalization of world religion."
Maginnis says it appears the hidden agenda is to unite people under one religious umbrella so they will peacefully accept the UN's radical political goals. "I would submit that the United Nations is very anti-life, they are anti-faith, anti-family, they're anti-national sovereignty, but they are pro one-world government," he said.
Christian scholars say the Bible warns of a time when all the world will unite under a false global religious and political system. Maginnis says, it appears the UN could be taking the first steps in that direction.
"You're taking the Muslim community, the Christian community, the Hindus, the Confucians and all the many hundreds of religious groups, trying to identify key leaders, and you are basically trying to co-opt them into cooperating with you," he said.
Christians believe there is one way to heaven, because Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father except by me."
But Rev. Brown Campbell said, "For me, that is true, I mean for me the way to God the way to peace is through Jesus Christ, that's what I teach my children, that's what I teach my grandchildren, and I believe that very, very strongly. But I also believe that for others, there is a way that for them is true and precious, and I don't deny them that reality and I respect that."
Maginnis said, "The name of Jesus has power and that's why Satan doesn't like it, he doesn't want to hear it in the halls of the UN, whether it be in New York City or in Geneva. So when Ms. Campbell presents herself as a representative for Christians, where does the name Christian come from, it comes from Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior; and if you don't invoke His name in the context of world religion, then I think you've fallen far short and clearly you've done a disservice to Christianity because He is the center of our salvation."

The Global Interfaith Movement | Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions (http://www.parliamentofreligions.org/)

The Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions
Our Mission
The Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions was created to cultivate harmony among the world's religious and spiritual communities and foster their engagement with the world and its guiding institutions in order to achieve a just, peaceful and sustainable world.
To accomplish this, we invite individuals and communities who are equally invested in attaining this goal.
Our Vision
The vision of the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions is of a just, peaceful and sustainable world in which:
Religious and spiritual communities live in harmony and contribute to a better world from their riches of wisdom and compassion
Religious and cultural fears and hatreds are replaced with understanding and respect
People everywhere come to know and care for their neighbors
The richness of human and religious diversity is woven into the fabric of communal, civil, societal and global life
The world's most powerful and influential institutions move beyond narrow self-interest to realize common good
The Earth and all life are cherished, protected, healed and restored
All people commit to living out their highest values and aspirations.
Our Approach
The Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions seeks to promote interreligious harmony, rather than unity. The problem with seeking unity among religions is the risk of loss of the unique and precious character of each individual religious and spiritual tradition; this understanding is key to our framework.
Interreligious harmony, on the other hand, is an attainable and highly desirable goal. Such an approach respects, and is enriched by, the particularities of each tradition. Moreover, within each tradition are the resources (philosophical, theological and spiritual teachings and perspectives) that enable each to enter into respectful, appreciative and cooperative relationships with persons and communities of other traditions.
Our Opportunity
We live in a world of difference. Yet, we are interdependent. Nowhere is learning to live with difference more important than religion.
Too often, religion is misused as an instrument for division and injustice, betraying the very ideals and teachings that lie at the heart of each of the world's great traditions. At the same time, religious and spiritual traditions shape the lives of billions in wise and wonderful ways. They gather people in communities of shared beliefs and practices. When these diverse communities work in harmony for the common good, there is hope that the world can be transformed.
Over the years, the Council has initiated dialogues and nurtured relationships among people of difference. In doing so the Council has provided a framework for expressing many visions of a just, peaceful and sustainable future. In the process, religious and spiritual communities have discovered a shared commitment to ethical principles.
This shared commitment has opened the way for a new era of cooperative action among the world's religious and spiritual communities as well as civil and political societies. The well-being of the Earth and all life depends on this collaboration.

With the end of the war in Lebanon that has caused so much destruction on the human and property, several groups belonging to different religious communities, had spontaneously formed, to reflect on the lessons of war, and the future. They reflected the willingness and courage of the participants, marking a glimmer of hope at a time when violence prevailed. The scope of their action could not carry further and reach of national stature.
After the Israeli air attack against Lebanon in July 1993 end, a spiritual summit was held at the Maronite Patriarchate in Bkerke, grouping the heads of all Lebanese religious communities, both Muslim and Christian, dated August 2, 1993. At the end of the meeting described as historic by the media, and among the decisions taken by them, a figure, on the formation of a Standing Committee for National Dialogue, bringing together their respective representatives and with the task of ensure the continuation of the recommendations made, and an ongoing dialogue and continuous liaison with the various authorities as Lebanese and international, and this in order to achieve a unified view vis-à-vis national issues and to consolidate the Muslim-Christian coexistence through dialogue, Lebanon and elsewhere.
Thus was born the National Committee for Islamic-Christian Dialogue.
The representatives of the heads of religious communities had been appointed as follows:

Van Impe leaves TBN over ‘Chrislam’ remarks

(RNS) Jack Van Impe, a popular End Times broadcaster, has ended his decades-long run on Trinity Broadcasting Network after a dispute over naming ministers that he accuses of mixing Christian and Muslim beliefs.
Earlier this month, Van Impe named California megachurch founders Rick Warren and Robert H. Schuller as proponents of “Chrislam,” which he defined as “a uniting of Christianity with Islam.” TBN pulled the episode before a repeat broadcast could air.
Michigan-based Jack Van Impe Ministries said its board of directors decided unanimously Thursday (June 17) to no longer work with TBN.
“We would not be able to minister effectively if we had to look over our shoulder wondering if a program was going to be censored because of mentioning a name,” said Ken Vancil, executive director of the ministry, in a statement.
TBN president and founder Paul Crouch expressed disappointment with the ministry’s decision.
“Although I understand, and actually agree with, your position that you ‘will not allow anyone to tell me what I can and cannot preach,’ I trust you understand that TBN takes the same position with its broadcast air time as well,” Crouch wrote in a letter to Van Impe.
Van Impe’s program cited Warren’s speech to an Islamic conference in Washington in 2009 and Schuller’s keynote address at an interfaith conference called “A Common Word” in 2008.
Van Impe and his co-host wife, Rexella, also claimed Warren said churches can attract new believers by taking crosses down from inside and outside their buildings.
In a June 8 tweet, Warren said just the opposite: “If you remove the cross from the church, it’s no longer the church. Just a social club.”
