This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'

On this week's edition of "The Hal Lindsey Report": Iran went on the offensive after its industrial infrastructure was infected by the 'Stuxnet' computer worm. Though the Iranian government accused "the enemy," it did not name any specific nation or nationalities. Instead, Iran's security services arrested dozens of 'cyberspies' at the Bushehr, Natanz, Isfahan nuclear facilities and also in Tehran.

Particular attention has been paid to the many Russian scientists, technicians, and engineers who are in Iran building the nuclear plants and putting them on-line.

However, many assume that Israel is responsible for creating the worm and planting it. Independent computer security experts think they may have found further proof of that involvement. An interesting file labeled "Myrtus" has been found in the Stuxnet code. Many are speculating that the label is an obscure reference to the Biblical Book of Esther. That book details the story of how the Jews foiled a Persian plot against them. As a clue, it's too obvious. As a taunt, it's priceless.

For much of the 20th Century and into the 21st, the US dollar has been the standard reserve currency for the world. Nations kept their savings in US dollars. It was the currency of international oil trading and for most other commodities as well. But the world is getting nervous. The out-of-control spending by the US government and its devil-may-care fiscal attitude has most of the world's major institutions talking seriously about "decoupling" from the US dollar. That means they may start dumping their dollar reserves and replacing them with other currencies such as the Euro. When that happens, it will so devalue the US dollar that two parties will suffer enormously: the United States (and its citizens) and those nations who hold the largest portions of our currency in reserve, i.e., China, Japan, and Saudi Arabia. How will they collect on our defaulted debt?

This fits right in with the prophetic scenario which seems to indicate that the United States fades from world dominance or, perhaps, even prominence. What could cripple our nation more -- and remove it from any essential role in the final days -- than complete economic collapse?

Last week, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad informed the world that elements within the US government planned and coordinated the September 11th attacks. Perhaps sensing that his outrageous soundbite was growing a little stale, he got busy this week and unleashed some more choice zingers toward the United States. It seems that President Obama's plea for Iran to "unclench" its fist may be working. How else could we be getting so many slaps in the face from the Iranians?

If you want a picture of my concerns about the West descending into a position of "dhimmitude" to Islam, look no further than the Netherlands. This week, popular Dutch legislator -- and outspoken critic of Islam -- Geert Wilders went on trial for charges of inciting racial hatred toward Muslims by his comments. Never mind that Islam is not a race, but a religion. Never mind that his remarks were spoken by a mainstream politician (Wilders is arguably the third most powerful political figure in the Netherlands) in the course of public debate over issues vital to Holland's security and future. He made the mistake of criticizing Islam. That's a no-no in much of the world. And we're well on our way to it being a crime here in America -- the land of freedom of speech!

My stories last week that related to the UFO phenomenon really struck a nerve. It's amazing how many of you are noticing the uptick in discussion and speculation about UFOs and extraterrestrial "activity." This week, I'm going to tell you about a new movie that's due to be released in mid-November. It uses images and terminology straight out of popular depictions of "the rapture" of the church. Only it's not Jesus Christ calling the believers to "Come up here!" It's the aliens.

I'll tell you why I think all of these media and entertainment references are part of a conditioning process setting the world up for the great deception described by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12.
