I think the intent was good - he chose a fairly friendly nation to make a speech, which he knew would be watched worldwide.
He spoke well - after all he is renowned for his oratorical skills.
But do speeches lead anywhere? that is what we have to watch !! Will it lead to a mutual understanding or a better one - I am not too sure of that
